Skillet & Stove is free to read. We pay for it with affiliate links. When you click a link to a product and buy it, we may earn a small commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or not.
The Amazon Associates Program
Skillet & Stove is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Most of the product links on this site go to Amazon.
Commission never changes our recommendation
This is the part that matters. We recommend the pan we’d tell a friend to buy, and the reasoning is identical whether a link earns us anything or not. In fact, our most common advice — “the $25 Lodge is all the skillet you need” or “keep the pan you already own” — points people toward the cheapest option or no purchase at all. If a more expensive pan pays a bigger commission but a cheaper one is the better buy, we recommend the cheaper one. How prices work
Prices and availability on Amazon change constantly, so we never hard-code a price into an article. Every price shown comes from an automated check against the retailer and carries the date it was pulled. If a price is more than a couple of days old, or we can’t confirm it, the button simply reads “Check price on Amazon” instead of showing a number that might be wrong. Always confirm the current price on the retailer’s site before buying.
Other retailers
Where a pan is sold better or only through the maker’s own store (some heirloom brands sell direct rather than on Amazon), we may link there too. If a link is one we don’t earn from, that doesn’t change whether we recommend the product.
